The Legend of Prambanan Temple

Prambanan is a one of many tamples in indonesian. Prambanan was founded in 850 BC by the local community. Prambanan is considered larged temple in Southeast Asia and had received approval from the UNESCO World Heritage.

A long time ago in java island, in region called Prambanan. There was two lies kingdom, kingdom pengging and kingdom kraton boko. kingdom Pengging has a leader named Prabu Amar Moyo and has a son Raden Bandung Bondowoso, the Pengging kingdom is in charge of the Boko kingdom led by Raja Boko. Raja Boko is very cruel, strong, and tall, the people of Boko are very afraid of the king, besides that, Raja Boko has a beautiful daughter named Roro Jonggrang.

One day, king of Boko declare war on the kingdom of pengging. in the battle the king of Boko faced the king pengging son named Raden Bandung Bondowoso, in the war the king Boko lost and was killed. Patih gupolo from Boko fled after losing the war. Raden Bandung Bondowoso searched patih Gupolo to the Boko Palace. Patih Gupolo told Pincess Loro Jonggrang if his father was killed in a war against Raden Bandung Bondowoso. Princess Loro Jonggrang is very sad. Suddenly Raden Bandung Bondowoso appeared in Boko palace, He saw Loro Jonggrang's daughter's beauty and wanted to marry her. The Boko kingdom had lost the war and had to surrender. princess Loro Jonggrang accepted Raden Bandung Bondowoso to be her husband, but with a request, prince Bondowoso to make 1000 temples in one night.

Prince agreed and then he immediately invited ginie for helped him to make the temples. The ginie began they worked very fasted. Princess Loro Jonggrang afraid, if prince Bondowoso could finish his job. Soon as soon, she took mortar and knocked several time. The ginie heard, it was indicates it's morning, the ginie stoped the worked and back to their origin. Princess Loro Jonggrang came to the temples and counted the temples, but the temple incomplete, only 99 temples. Prince Bondowoso angry and said "you will complete the tempe to 1000 Jonggrang", and princess Jonggrang turn to the stone. it is exist in the heart of the prambanan temples until now.
