The Legend of Banyuwangi

Hi guys, I will tell history about Banyuwangi. Banyuwangi is a name district in the province east java. It is located in the earthmost part of the island of java, next to Bali. Banyuwangi and the island of Bali. Here is a well know legend about Banyuwangi, please read below....

Long time a go in east java, Banyuwangi was called Blambangan. There lived a kigdom, he had a son named Raden Banterang. He liked hunting very much. One day, when Raden Banterang was hunting a deer in around Blambangan he saw a beautiful girl. He approached and asked that girl.

"who are you?" said Raden Banterang.

"I'm Surati, princess from Klungkung. Here me escape with my guards but I lose. Please helped me sir, I am in danger."

Then Raden Banterang helped her, and invited to his castle. Raden Banterang felt in love with Surati and later married. When Raden Banterang hunted in the forest, Surati went and met his brother named Rupaksa. She was surprised that his brother was still alive. Apparantely, Rupaksa came to Blambangan for revenge. Rupaksa asked Surati to join in revenge. Rupaksa told his father's died because killer was from Blambangan empire. But Surati not agree to join, because her husband was very kind and never hurt him.

The apparently Rupaksa giving the head dress "please keep the head dress under the pillow".  Then Rupaksa leave Surati.

When on the way, Rupaksa met Raden Banterang and disguised himself as a priest. he said " there will be bad people near you who will kill you"

"who is that? and what do you mean?" Raden Banteang overtaken.

"Your wife, she will kill you. Look for something in your room on the pillow, yoou will know what I mean"

Raden Banterang immadiately searched the contents of his room and found a head dress. He asked to his wife " what is this? Do you mean to kill me?"

"No, I will not to kil you. I met my brother, he invited me to revenge, but I don't want to, and he gave me the head dress"

"I don't trust you"

Then Surati brought Raden Banterang to the sea, she said "if I lie this water will become dirty and smelly, if I do not lie this water will be clear and fragrant", then she throw to the sea. Suddenly the sea water became clear and fragnant, it turned out to be true. Raden Banterang regratted accusing his wife. Since then he changed his kingdom's named Banyuwangi.
